Management Analyst Working Group
The NIH Management Analyst Working Group (MAWG) is a community of practice that provides a forum to educate, inform, and share best practices and resources in the areas of common interest to NIH analyst professionals. The group encourages appropriate linkages across ICs related to common administrative management issues. The MAWG accomplishes this by networking, discussing, and collaborating on programs, regulations, policies, and procedures to achieve compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency across NIH.
The MAWG membership consists primarily of management and program analysts, as well as other professional administrative personnel from teh 27 NIH Institutes and Centers, the NIH Office of the Director, and the NIH Office of Management Assessment (OMA).
MAWG members formulate meeting agendas and organize meetings of the MAWG, represent the MAWG community through active participation in the Management Analyst Steering Committee (MASC) and activities, assess potential training needs in the MAWG community, facilitate the sharing of informaiton and best practices, and lead training, conference, workshop, and special interest meetings.
Meetings and Operations
MAWG meetings are scheduled to occur bimonthly on the third Thursday of the meeting month. The MAWG may meet more, or less, frequently as circumstances dictate at the discretion of the members.
Responsibilities performed by MAWG members align to the NIH 343 series competency model. Meeting Minutes and Records and Decisions are available on the MAWG website (NIH-Access only).
